Oh, 2011. Didn't see you there.

Greetings from The Penguin's nest! How are you all doing? :) Well, seems like we're two weeks into the new year isn't it? I did absolutely nothing during the holidays except sleep, watch movies, and hang out with friends. I did meet a few cool people during the hols though.

News, I'm not doing Form 4! Which is fantastic cause it means I'm not sitting for SPM. I am, however sitting for IGCSE in May/June of  '12.

Now then, we're doing a book report thing for English. Basically, we're allowed to do it on any book of our choice, and i've decided to do The Black Prism by the splendiferous Brent Weeks. Mostly, I'm doing it so more people will read his amazing, badass, awesome books. (Yeah, I'm talking to you. Go check it out, seriously. Come on, it has a maa-aaap. :D)

I know, my last blog post was like, in November I think? So yeah. I shall update more frequently this year, (hopefully).

Oh aaaand, lastly ;

Movies & TV Shows I cannot wait to watch.

1) The Borgias (TV) ; starring Jeremy Irons as  Rodrigo Borgia, the badass cardinal who ends up being the Pope. Think the Godfather, and you'll get the basic picture.
2) Camelot (TV) ; Joseph Fiennes as Merlin, Jamie Campbell Bower as Arthur, AND  Eva Green as Morgan Le Fay? Ahhhh, the cast is too good to be true! I didn't believe it at first, until I saw the official trailer.

On to movies.

1) Pirates of the Caribbean 4 : On Stranger Tides. No explanation needed.
2) Love and Other Drugs. I will watch anything with Anne Hathaway.
3) Green Lantern. I really, really hope they don't screw this up. Hal Jordan is my favorite Green Lantern.
4) Morning Glory. Rachel McAdams and Harrison Ford? Looks good to me.
5) Your Highness. Which seems to be just made of awesome.
6) Thor. More Natalie Portman! Yay! Looks damn good, too.
7) Rango. More Johnny Depp is always a good thing.
8) Friends With Benefits. Looks funny as hell + Mila Kunis. :D

So, I'm off to go watch Romeo + Juliet, (the Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes version) and Shakespeare In Love  in hopes of understanding more lines from the original Romeo and Juliet for literature. Also, has anyone seen the new season of Californication? It's ridiculously awesome.

wishful thinking.

There was a point in time that we would have ended a call with  I love you.  Not anymore. Now we just hit 'end call' without even saying goodbye.

Too many things changed this year.

Call That A Comeback.

Nicole: You never think about me anymore? Not even just a little?
Matt: Let me put it this way: I have thought about you - about us - a lot, but tonight, when you came in, was the first time I didn't get all fucked up about it.
- 40 Days and 40 Nights

Sometimes, lines from movies have a way of summing up your feelings precisely. Right now, this line would be it. Suffice to say, I've gotten over the hell you've put me through in the past couple months. In a way, I'm glad to have met you and have gone through all the things we've been through together. If I had to go back and do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Closure has finally been achieved and I'm glad.

Now, sorry to ruin the mood, but I'm off to continue my Justice League marathon. Why has no one else noticed this massive bromance between J'onn and Superman?! It's so adorable, I could just die. Last thing, regarding the movie that I quoted above; 40 Days and 40 Nights is a really good movie. If you haven't watched it, GO WATCH IT. NOW.

Come on, Josh Hartnett and Shannyn Sossamon in the same movie? How can you resist? ;)

this has been a post.

of Clockwork Angel and Tigertails.

So recently, (recently being Monday) I finished reading Clockwork Angel and I thought I'd put down some of my thoughts about it.

It was brilliant! I loved it. I mean, for me, TMI will always be number 1, but Clockwork Angel was gooooooood. So, without further ado, a list of  my favorite characters from both The Mortal Instruments , Clockwork Angel, and another list, combining the two.

of change & cynics.

Things change.

Two words. Amazing really.

Honestly, I should know this better than anyone. I’ve been betrayed and hurt by people far more times than I care to count. One thing that I’ve never had, through each and every one of those experiences?
Closure.
Maybe if I did, things would be different. I would have been smarter, thought with my head and not my heart. Things like that. It's probably just wishful thinking. I realized that I start all my relationships (and friendships, for that matter) with too much trust.

I have this tendency to never question people. You need my help? You ask, and it's done. I put my friends needs before my own. I put them before anything else. So when something happens and that friendship gets damaged, sometimes beyond repair? You can bet I'll be the one that's more hurt.

When I like someone, or when I consider people close friends, it's almost inconceivable that you could be having the time of your life with that person, and all of a sudden, the friendship's over.

Over the years, I've finally come to the realization that I trust people far too easily. So I've developed a sort of shell. To keep myself away from everyone, thus in my mind, keeping myself from getting hurt.

I don't even know why the hell I'm typing all this out at three in the morning. My insomnia's been killing me plus my sleeping and eating  schedule has been so fucked up recently because PMR's over and I haven't had school for two weeks.

Anyway, I'm just gonna try to sleep now cause I have archery training in around five hours. I'm screwed. G'night to anyone who's reading this.

I'm not usually this cynical, honest. I just need to get all this off my chest.

Things change, I should really just learn to fucking deal with it.

"Um, like no offense but..."

For fucks sakes. No offense  just means, sorry, but just shut up cause I'm going to insult you/something you like/your friend and expect you to be quiet. Honestly, why can't people just say what they mean? Really, this pisses me off. Best part is, if someone says No Offense and you get annoyed, people think you're a bitch. I'm just like, "really? really?"

Moving on, I'm listening to The Libertines! :D I like this so far actually. Can't believe it took me this  long to finally get around downloading the album.

Right about now, you're probably wondering what the hell am I doing, blogging  in the middle of PMR. (Okay, not the middle, there's only a day left) I've got two subjects left, Kemahiran Hidup & Maths. I am going to die. Maths paper 2. *cue suicide here*

Truth is, I'm getting supremely bored. Couple more days and I get my life back. Lol, Dan literally just texted me good luck. :D  After PMR I shall spend my days lazing about, watching tv, updating this and catching up on my reading. Also,  I miss Yaya. I haven't seen that freak since Tokio Hotel in May! :(

So er, yeah. That's about it. This has been a meaningless post in which I did not make sense at all.

If  you've read this till the end, wow, you're bored.

Thank you for your time.

Oh, and TV Show update! Season Six of How I Met Your Mother is fucking EPIC,  Hellcats is pretty cool, Gossip Girl S4 is good, (Clemence Poesy, you and your gorgeous hair. Yaya, yours looks like hers actually.) I need to watch Castle Season 3. Criminal Minds is by far my new favorite.

Matthew Gray Gubler, you own my heart.

Okay rambled on for far too long. I'm done now. (for good this time)

Day 5 ; Six Things You Wish You'd Never Done.

1) Pulling an all nighter just to read. Yes, I've done this countless times

2) This damn list. I don't believe in regretting things I've done. But onwards with the shameless hypocrisy!

3) Giving up ballet when I was a kid. I constantly imagine a life in which I'm flexible.

4) Getting into fights for the most idiotic reasons.

5) Not even attempting to stop swearing. Take me as I am, eh?

6) That thing that I did the day before this year's math midterm. Stupid move, Maneesha. Stupid move. Yeah, dumbass. Listen to your head next time.

End note. My brain's commentary on this is in italics. Sarcastic italics as Russell Brand would say.

That is all. :)
