This really isn't what I want to be doing with my life. Yeah, I know, I'm probably not supposed to be questioning what my obligations are, and as of now, preparing and taking the exams are my obligations. But enough about that, lets move on to better things eh? :)
I've recently read the Night Angel Trilogy by the amazing Brent Weeks. I have to admit, I picked up the first book, The Way Of Shadows, because I just really wanted to read something new. I was so sick of Vampires fucking everywhere. (side note; Vampires Suck! anyone?)
So yeah, continuing, it's an absolutely brilliant book. Seriously. You should all go get it. Admittedly, the beginning of the book was disturbing because of the themes in it. (if you can't take graphic murder scenes, this is NOT the book for you.)
But other than that, it was amazingly well written, it gets you thinking, and you can be damn well sure that it'll keep you interested throughout. Okay, I could go on for pages about how much I adore this book, but I'm gonna stop here, and put up the summary for the book so that you can read it and decide for yourself if it's worth it. :)
Summary --> For Durzo Blint, assassination is an art-and he is the city's most accomplished artist. For Azoth, survival is precarious. Something you never take for granted. As a guild rat, he's grown up in the slums, and learned to judge people quickly - and to take risks. Risks like apprenticing himself to Durzo Blint. But to be accepted, Azoth must turn his back on his old life and embrace a new identity and name. As Kylar Stern, he must learn to navigate the assassins' world of dangerous politics and strange magics - and cultivate a flair for death.
